Female Coaching Network and boobydoo Join Forces to Close the Education Gap in Supporting Female Athletes
To mark International Women's Day, the Female Coaching Network (FCN) and boobydoo have announced a new collaboration aimed at improving how coaches support female athletes - addressing one of sport’s most overlooked performance factors: the sports bra.
As awareness around female athlete health continues to grow, sports bra education has remained largely absent from traditional coach development pathways. To address this gap, boobydoo developed the Sports Bra Advocate Course, a leading e-learning programme focused on sports bra fit, health and performance.
The course recently received its first full Quality Assurance review from the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity, achieving the top grading of Enhancing for Quality of Education.
Building on this foundation, the Female Coaching Network has collaborated with boobydoo to expand the course with new coach-specific modules designed to support coaches in real-world environments.
The enhanced programme includes guidance on starting conversations around breast health and athlete wellbeing, safeguarding frameworks for both female and male coaches, role-play coaching scenarios, expert interviews exploring posture and biomechanics, and practical tools to help coaches confidently support and signpost athletes.

Vicky Huyton, Founder of the Female Coaching Network, said:
“It’s incredible that after 20 years as a coach and a lifetime involved in sport, I understood so little about the importance of an effective sports bra. I am genuinely excited to partner with boobydoo to support coaches in raising safeguarding standards and better supporting their female athletes.”
Charly Rhodes, Director at boobydoo, said:
“I’m delighted to welcome Vicky’s expertise to the Sports Bra Advocate Course. While we bring over 20 years of specialist sports bra fitting expertise, it was essential to incorporate insights from professionals working directly in coaching and sports therapy to ensure the content is practical and relevant to real sporting environments.”
With the new content launching before the end of March, the enhanced Sports Bra Advocate Course is now available to coaches, practitioners and organisations looking to raise standards of athlete welfare and performance. The Female Coaching Network additional course content will be available for all currently enrolled.
